If you ever want to hear a reader's feedback :) , I rate this article for 4/5. Decent info, but I just have to go to that damn yahoo to find the missed bits. Thank you, anyway!

I read your page about your personal experience with video editing. i never have to re-encode any of my videos, though i think it is amazing that you can do that, i am glad to learn all what i learned in this class. i thought corel is a big and reputabale company, but sometime you never know. Maybe after this semester is over i will research this a bit deeper.

Google webpage is much simpler to read; simply because it is not crowded with all the ads, it makes it look less complicated; I was able to get very similar results from both search engine search engine Windows Live Search and google 's one. I remember couple of years back when I was very frustrated to find something online, I got bombarded with hundreds of sites that I did not need. when I complained to the person in the next cubical he said try Dogpile search engine it really worked for me, but unfortunately it is not used widely; maybe it was not as helpful as I thought.

Completely agree. Windows Live Search for instance could be closed down tomorrow - no lessons learned - nobody would mourn, it's a completely useless search engine. The simplicity of Googles makes your own work easier and that's what search-engines and apps are for. They're a service on line to help me to fulfill my work and then the app or engine should trust my intelligence and not throw 1000 of extras in my face that makes my work more difficult. Simplicity always adds beauty but is rare to find and difficult to achieve. Though it's obvious when it's obtained, Simplicity is found through difficult processes. Like peace such an easy solution but so difficult to achieve. / Matilda

Although the information era will certainly help the most lagged societies (in terms of human progress) update, the Internet is a wild jungle full of options that is becoming socially overwhelming for a lot of individuals. I am afraid there is a silent need that is not evident now: to gather efforts again pro more comfortable and fair societies. Good post, anyway.

heh, I guess I never thought about it. This is an interesting random thought (or thoughts it seems). Although I havent read the book or read much material on the subject, I could see how a large group of ppl too closely connected could hamper progress. I think people in the research field would agree that sometimes independent research can be more fruitful than collaborative research. hmmm... In thinking about this or evaluating Beinhocker's stance, i would want to think of a small group and then think of the hurdles that might occur as the group gets larger. wheres the break down? Sometimes good ideas are lost in the shuffle or misunderstood or dismissed prematurely by peers. Hmm... im not sure i have a good argument here. ... i guess im just thinking and blogging.

Great piece of your personal experience with the videos. Need time to check and revert if there is an alternate, there should be one, I will try and get back later.

Archiving has been a big issue, which needs serious attention. However, there are many research projects and university work going on in that direction. It is wothwhile to examine some labs to find more. I remember Xerox, Kodak and IBM labs were working on some solutions, but lost track of same.

Amongst all ZOHO seems to be the most promising. The best part is the blogs about each product in the suite and an online screencast of each product. Gives you a complete overview of the product and how to go about finding your way to use the product.
